THE CITIZENS FOUNDATION FOR BETTER GOVERNMENT is a nonprofit, nonpartisan foundation established in 2009 to educate and inform all Americans on our rights and responsibilities as citizens, the history and principles behind our nation's founding, and Our upstart, grass roots organization, headquartered in Tampa, Florida, was conceived and founded by an ordinary American citizen who determined that career politicians in Congress, and their mismanagement of government, are primarily responsible for the steady decline of the United States economy and our standing among nations. Our goal is to remove lifelong career politicians from Congress forever by overseeing the passage of a constitutional Amendment that defines the number of consecutive terms and years that anyone elected to Congress may serve. We want to restore Congress as a citizen legislature, as intended by our founders; eliminate the culture of corruption that pervades Congress; restore accountability and control to the People; and secure better government for all Americans. We believe in our Constitution and our founding principles; and believe that the United States of America is the single greatest secular force for good on earth and the world's greatest champion for freedom and individual liberties. We are all appalled by the deplorable condition of our nation and economy, and simply wish to see our cherished country returned to the path of peace, progress and prosperity for all.
