DIRECTOR MEDIA RELATIONS
As Director of Media Relations, you will report directly to our Chairman to help strategically plan and tactically implement the promotion of ACT NOW! across all possible media outlets.
This position will serve as the leader of the News & Media Services team which will be responsible for uncovering story ideas and opportunities by developing and maintaining positive relationships with internal clients and connecting those stories with reporters at relevant local, regional and national publications, and all electronic media including television, radio and Internet.
They also will be a key author of news articles that position ACT NOW! in media outlets of all types. The goal of the role will be to ensure that positive news coverage reaches all targeted media outlets that support ACT NOW! mission outcomes and increase our visibility in the public eye.
You will be accountable for:
- Preparing and distributing news releases, pitches and other media materials
- Writing authored articles for submission to trade publications
- Writing opinion pieces for ACT NOW! leadership for submission to general news outlets and related media.
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with appropriate national, regional, local and news media representatives.
- Implementing media plans for projects or programs.
- Identifying media opportunities that connect ACT NOW! to topics of regional and national interest.
- Utilizing new media such as the web and blogs, as appropriate.
- Managing news conferences and media availabilities, and conducting on site media tours.
- Use advanced electronic technology to distribute news and information, respond to media requests, track media placements and match ACT NOW! experts with reporters working on stories.
- Responding to information requests from the news media, businesses, other government and quasi-government agencies, civic groups, educational organizations and general public.
Preferred qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism or related field and at least five years experience as a reporter, media relations or communications professional.
- PR agency or corporate experience is preferred.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Excellent writing skills.
- Must possess strong judgment and ability to build relationships with diverse sets of people.
- Able to prioritize, work under pressure and meet deadlines.

DIRECTOR - FUND RAISING
As the Fund Raising Development Director for ACT NOW! you will report directly to our Chairman and your mission will be to plan and implement comprehensive annual fund development and retention programs focused on donations from individuals, corporations, foundations, special events, major gifts, and capital campaigns.
Your expertise with both the development and execution of monthly and annual giving, major donor and planned giving programs, as well as capital campaigns for non-profit organizations will ensure you make an immediate impact.
Polished and professional written and verbal communication will be critical when drafting press releases and donor correspondence and working with the Board of Directors to develop new campaigns and report on existing campaigns.
A proven track record managing resources, including staff, and executing fund raising programs under budget will be key. Though professional experience in revolutionary government reform is not required, it is vital that our mission speaks to you and that you are committed to our cause.
DIRECTOR INTERNET MANAGEMENT
This is a senior management role, reporting directly to our Chairman, that is responsible for providing vision and leadership to the team responsible for the design and production of our websites, as well as all Internet communications such as blogs, social networking, advertising, etc.
This role requires a diverse set of skills including a deep understanding of Internet tools and technologies, effective web design and production, cross-functional project management, and team management and leadership.
This position will provide system enhancements, design, testing, deployment, and updating, to include the design and construction of web pages using applications, techniques and tools such as Java script, PHP, CSS, HTML, XTML, Flash, etc. Provide for the automatic transfer of "in process" functions from the "old" version to the new or upgraded version.
This position will assume full responsibility for all Internet-related activities.
