A UNITED STATES CITIZEN'S PETITION
calling for
An Amendment to the Constitution of the United States
to Define the Number of Consecutive Terms and Years that Any
Person May Serve in Elective Office to the United States Congress

I,                      first name       middle initial      last name                  , an American citizen

residing in the great state of                                         my state                                        , hereby petition all duly elected officials of my state; whether State Assemblyman, Representative, Senator, Governor or other; or United States Representative or Senator; to immediately and forever henceforth employ the full power of their elected office and all other powers and influence whatsoever at their command to support and vote for passage by the United States Congress of an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to define the limits of consecutive terms and years that any person may serve in elective office to the United States Congress.

I hereby simultaneously petition all duly elected officials of my state, as previously referenced, to immediately call upon the United States Congress to convene a constitutional convention, without undue delay, for the purpose of passing such an amendment by vote of the respective states and to use any and all powers and influence at their command to secure the other states support and votes for Congress to immediately convene such a Constitutional Convention.

Furthermore, I petition all duly elected officials of my state to immediately vote to ratify any such amendment that may be passed by the United States Congress or by states convention and to use any and all powers and influence at their command to support and secure a vote for ratification of this amendment by the legislatures of the other states.

I support the amendment language as proposed by Americans for Congressional Term limits NOW!, but I urge further consideration and debate by all Americans to perfect amendment language that may be more agreeable to my fellow citizens and more likely to be passed by vote of Congress and the states and into the law of the United States.

In any event, I hereby pledge my unconditional support for immediate passage by the United States Congress or by the states in constitutional convention, and immediate ratification by the legislatures of the states, of any such constitutional amendment that reasonably limits the consecutive terms and years that any person may serve in elected office to the United States Congress.

Furthermore, I hereby pledge to use all powers whatsoever at my command to influence my fellow American citizens to support and vote for the amendment described above...
